Welcome to Veterinary Diagnostic Center

The Veterinary Diagnostic Center (VDC), Chiang Mai University Animal Hospital has been established since 1999 at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University. The aims of the center are providing the animal health services for veterinarians, farm owners, and pet owners not only in the Northern region of Thailand, but also international level. The VDC supports the various diagnosis tests of animal diseases, focusing on the accurate result and rapid test together with convenient services, benefit to animal health and customers. The center also offers laboratory services in survey, investigate, and diagnosis of the emerging infectious diseases that affecting on both animals and humans. Moreover, the VDC supports a veterinary students, researchers, lecturers, and staffs of faculty as a source of knowledge and diagnosis services. The veterinary diagnostic center composes of 12 laboratory units as following

  • Pathology
  • Serology
  • Bacteriology and mycology
  • Molecular biology
  • Virology
  • Parasitology and protozoology
  • Aquatic medicine
  • Feed analysis
  • Milk quality analysis
  • Semen quality analysis
  • Hormonal analysis
  • Taxidermy

Types of Sample


  • Collect the samples and keep in the appropriate condition of each diagnostic test. Completely seal the samples in the clean or sterile container and label the name of all samples
  • Fill the submission form completely (download online)
  • Pack the samples in the clean parcel and maintain the temperature condition as each laboratory requirement.
  • Send the sample to Veterinary Diagnostic Center, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Chiang Mai University as soon as possible (with in 24 hour is recommended). If the samples are submitted from outside Chiang Mai or oversea, please note that it may take time for transportation the sample to VDC.
  • Please inform us about the payment method in the submission form (cash, cheque, or bank transfer)
  • Please fill the telephone number, address or e-mail to send the result or contact VDC directly to receive the result, as appropriate (sender or owner only).

  • Monday to Friday form 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.

 


  • Laboratory result (printed copy), receive at VDC or sending via the Thailand postal service
  • FAX
  • Electronic form (e-mail required)
