Department of Food Animal Clinics was established
according the main vision and role of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
and Chiang Mai University, to conduct the veterinary education at veterinary
clinical studies level related to food animals, i.e, cattle, dairy cattle,
broilers, layer, pig, fish and shrimp. Veterinary education management is
offered to provide opportunity to students to gain knowledge, understanding
and enough confidence along with competence to perform essential procedural
clinical skills independently in the internal medicine, surgery, reproductive
science, epidemiology in the treatment, control and prevention of infectious
and non-infectious diseases in farms, modern farm management, animal feed
production at farm level that is safe for consumers, communities and the
environment. The students will learn the management of clinical training
studies emphasizing hands-on experiences, enhance the clinical skills according
to animal species as well as research that responds to the national development
plan, the efficient academic services to communities and the northern region,
and includes preserving arts and culture. It consists of 4 units: Ruminant
clinic, Swine clinic, Poetry clinic, and Aquatic clinic.
